Getting Married In Surrey?
A wedding film keeps the sound of your day, which is the part photographs cannot do. My name is Paul Burton and I run Burton Media from Grayshott, just over the Hampshire border, so Farnham, Guildford, Dorking and Chertsey are all a short run. I have been filming weddings since 2015. Every one gets cut differently, because no two days run the same way.
Film catches what you were too busy to notice. Somebody’s face during the vows. The pause before the best man gets his laugh. I use a drone when the venue is worth seeing from above and I will say so if yours is not.
Surrey and Its Many Faces
I am just over the border at Grayshott, so Farnham, Guildford, Dorking and Chertsey are all a short run. Surrey venues tend to spread a day across a lot of rooms and a lot of grounds. Knowing the building in advance is the difference between catching the walk back down the aisle and hearing about it afterwards.
Plenty of Surrey venues will let you marry outdoors, which is the best and the hardest thing I film. Best because nothing sits between you and everybody watching. Hardest because wind carries voices away from a camera, so the microphones go on early rather than hopefully.

Get to Know Paul, Your Surrey Wedding Videographer
I spent years photographing weddings before I moved to film, which is still the most useful training I had. It teaches you where to stand, when to stay still and how to read a room without becoming part of it. Packages start at £1,547 and all of them cover the whole day rather than a fixed number of hours.
Surrey venues tend to spread a day across a lot of rooms and a lot of grounds. Botleys and Wotton House both do and a day at Sandhurst carries a formality that is better worked with than fought. Knowing a building in advance is the difference between catching the walk back down the aisle and hearing about it later.
Wedding Videography Services
I use up to five cameras through the ceremony and the speeches, since those are the parts you only get one attempt at. Every speech is properly miked, so the jokes survive. A teaser film lands within seven days, normally quicker than that, with the full films following afterwards.
Everything is delivered digitally and cut in the order the day actually happened, with no jumping about for effect. If your day does not fit any of the standard packages neatly, say so, because most of the weddings I film end up slightly bespoke anyway.

Surrey gives you castles, mansions and one military academy. They are not the same job. A ballroom with good afternoon light needs almost nothing from me. Sandhurst runs to its own timings and its own rules, so I plan that day differently.

Horsley Towers
Horsley Towers near East Horsley is a Grade II listed nineteenth century mansion with eight acres around it. The ballroom lights itself on a decent afternoon, which is worth knowing when you set your timings. Botleys Mansion

The Great Fosters
The Great Fosters is one of the oldest hotels in England and dates back to 1550! It was originally owned by Henry VIII and was once used as a hunting lodge by Elizabeth I! Frequently Asked Questions
Are you limited by location?
I’m based in Surrey but will definitely travel if needed. I enjoy being able to explore new locations and love to do destination weddings. I am well-known for my videography throughout London, Kent, Essex and other areas of the UK.
Do you have a limit on hours?
There is no hour limit. I usually get there about two hours before the ceremony, probably earlier because I hate being late and I stay until after the first dance and a couple of songs beyond it. If the night is still going and you want me there, say so and I will stay.
What parts of the day do you record?
I record the preparation, the ceremony, the speeches, the first dance and any other event you would like.
How long will it take to get my films?
I maintain a fairly tight schedule and limit the number of weddings I accept. A flexible schedule allows me to devote the time I need to my existing clients. A teaser within seven days and usually within twenty four hours if I have not got a wedding the next day. The full films take longer, up to ninety days in the busy months, because I will not rush anybody’s films. At the moment I am delivering in about four weeks. If you need them for a particular date, tell me early and I will work to it.
Do you coordinate with the wedding photographer?
Yes! I will work with your photographer so that we both have the positioning we need to provide you with quality photographs and videos.

Surrey wedding venues I film at
These are the Surrey venues I know well enough to tell you something useful about. Each one has its own page with capacities, filming notes and, where there is one, a real wedding I filmed there.
Horsley Towers near East Horsley is a nineteenth century mansion with a ballroom that lights itself on a decent afternoon, plus eight acres to disappear into after the ceremony.
Farnham Castle has been standing since the twelfth century and has 33 rooms on site, so the morning tends to happen all in one place. Mel and Oliver were married there.
Botley’s Mansion near Chertsey takes up to 500 in the evening, which makes it the largest venue I regularly film at.
Foxhills Country Club in Ottershaw gives you three quite different ceremony spaces and which one you pick genuinely changes the film.
Wotton House in Dorking is where I filmed Jenna and Matthew, with the ceremony in The Old Library.
Cain Manor sits on the Hampshire border a few minutes from home, up a long winding drive on a hilltop.
The Royal Military Academy Sandhurst at Camberley has the 1813 chapel and three very different reception spaces.

Northbrook Park near Farnham is the largest venue on my list, up to two hundred and fifty guests in a hundred and twenty acres with walled gardens and lakes. Emma and Tom were married there.
Loseley Park outside Guildford is an Elizabethan manor with a seventeenth century barn and a walled garden. Alexandra and William were married there.
