Hello, I am Paul
I run Burton Media from Grayshott, on the border between Hampshire and Surrey. I film weddings and I shoot commercial work and I have been doing both long enough to know that the two feed each other. The patience you learn waiting for a real moment at a wedding is the same patience that gets you the right shot on a commercial set and the discipline of a client brief is what stops a wedding film turning into three hundred pretty clips with no story in them.
What a wedding day with me looks like
No posing, no forced smiles, no interruptions. I arrive before you start getting ready and I stay past the first dance, usually eleven hours or more, because the moments worth having are not on the schedule. I film what happens and I keep out of the way while I do it. If your photographer sets something up I will use it but I am not going to stop your day for the sake of a shot. What you get back looks like your wedding rather than like everybody else’s.
Most of my weddings are in Hampshire, Surrey, West Sussex and across the South East, and I travel further when I am asked to. I have filmed at Cain Manor, Farnham Castle, Foxhills, Elmers Court, New Place Hotel and Highley Manor among plenty of others and there is a page for most of the venues I work at with honest notes on what filming there is actually like.
The commercial side
Around half of what I do is not weddings. I shoot corporate video, property tours, drone work and content creation for businesses across the South East and I photograph as well as film. That matters more than it sounds. It means one person on site instead of two, one consistent look across the stills and the footage and one invoice at the end. I also do a fair amount of work with the fire service and other public sector teams, where the job is usually to make something complicated look clear.
