Filming at Long Furlong Barn

I have filmed at Long Furlong Barn more than once now and it is a venue I am always pleased to see come up in an enquiry. It is a 16th century barn, restored in local stone and timber, with exposed oak beams and a mezzanine floor above the main room.

What I notice most is the light. There are big windows down the side of the barn, so on most days I can film your ceremony without bringing much lighting in at all. The footage ends up looking like the room actually looked, which is rather the point.

You are up in the West Sussex countryside just outside Worthing, tucked far enough away that the day feels like it belongs to you. Rolling hills in every direction. When you step outside after the ceremony there is nothing behind you but fields, which is a gift when I am trying to film something that feels calm rather than staged.

Danni and Chris at Long Furlong Barn

Danni and Chris got married here and I filmed the whole day, from the morning through to the evening. If you want a proper sense of how a wedding at Long Furlong Barn actually unfolds, their story is the best place to start.

How I work on the day

No posing, no forced smiles, no interruptions. I film what happens and I stay out of the way while I do it. If your photographer sets something up I will use it, but I am not going to stop your day to get a shot.

Most couples tell me afterwards that they forgot I was there. That is usually the nicest thing anyone says to me.

Filming notes for Long Furlong Barn

  1. The barn holds 130 for the ceremony and up to 200 in the evening.
  2. Exclusive hire, so there is no other event to work around and I can set up early.
  3. The mezzanine floor gives me a second angle on the room without getting in anyone’s way.
  4. Good natural light through the windows, so I rarely need to bring much lighting kit in.
  5. Accommodation is off site. Tell me where you are getting ready and I will plan the morning around the travel.

Other Venues in West Sussex

Frequently Asked Questions

I’m based in Surrey, but will definitely travel if needed. I enjoy being able to explore new locations and love to do destination weddings. I am well-known for my videography throughout London, Kent, Essex, and other areas of the UK.

I do not limit myself on hours. I will often stay 11 hours or more to ensure I have all the footage I need to tell your wedding story. My day will begin just before you start preparing for the wedding. I will continue to film throughout the day until approximately 30 minutes after you have the first dance. Arrangements can be made if I need to stay a bit longer.

I record the preparation, the ceremony, the speeches, the first dance, and any other event you would like.

I maintain a fairly tight schedule and limit the number of weddings I accept. A flexible schedule allows me to devote the time I need to my existing clients. 28 days is the soonest you will receive them. 90 days is the longest you may have to wait. Teaser videos are often ready in just a few days.

Yes! I will work with your photographer so that we both have the positioning we need to provide you with quality photographs and videos.
