Best West Sussex Wedding Venues
West Sussex is where I end up when a couple wants space around them. Downland, barns and one very large house. What follows is what each venue is actually like to spend a wedding day in, with the real guest numbers rather than the brochure version.
Every venue below has its own page here with filming notes and a film from the day. If Sussex is not where you are looking, there is a Surrey wedding venues guide and a Hampshire wedding venues guide covering the same ground.
Goodwood House, Chichester
180 for the ceremony indoors or out, 180 seated and 225 in the evening, which makes it the biggest day I film in the county. Ninety one rooms at the Goodwood Hotel, so the guest list has somewhere to go afterwards.
The Ballroom is the room everybody photographs. It is the downland beyond it that makes the film. Twenty minutes out there after the ceremony is usually all I need. More on the Goodwood House page.
Long Furlong Barn, Worthing
130 for the ceremony indoors or out, 130 seated and 200 in the evening. Exclusive hire, so there is no other event to work around and I can set up early.
Accommodation is off site, which is the one thing worth planning around here. Watch Danni and Chris on the Long Furlong Barn page and you will get a fair sense of how the day runs.
Grittenham Barn, Tillington
120 for the ceremony, 120 seated and 200 in the evening, with accommodation close by rather than on site.
One wedding a weekend, which is the part I would flag if you are still choosing. Nobody is turning the room around behind you and nothing runs to somebody else’s clock. There is more on the Grittenham Barn page.
Highley Manor, Balcombe
Eighty six for the ceremony and the wedding breakfast, up to 200 in the evening. Three licensed ceremony spaces, all seating eighty six, plus outdoor ceremonies when the weather behaves.
Eighteen bedrooms in the manor, so most of the family are already on site in the morning. No convoy, no missed light and no forty minute hole in the film while everybody travels. The Great Hall and the Baronial Hall are both on the Highley Manor page.
Just over the border
Two more worth knowing about if you are looking along the Sussex and Hampshire line. The Tithe Barn sits above Petersfield with the South Downs behind it, and Horsley Towers is a straight run up into Surrey.
How I film a West Sussex wedding
No posing, no forced smiles, no interruptions. I film what happens and I stay out of the way while I do it. If your photographer sets something up I will use it, but your day does not stop for me.
Full day films across the county start at 1,547 pounds and the detail is on the West Sussex wedding videographer page. If you would rather see how I work first, my style and approach is the place to start. Packages and pricing has the numbers, and you can reach me on the contact page whenever you are ready.
