Filming at Horsley Towers
Horsley Towers is a nineteenth century mansion just outside East Horsley and it is one of the more theatrical venues I film at. The ballroom has the height and the ornate detail you would expect. What actually makes it work on film though is the windows. They are large enough that on a decent afternoon the room lights itself and I can film your ceremony without adding a single thing.
There are eight acres out there, plus the terrace, plus gardens tucked far enough away that nobody will come looking for you. That matters more than it sounds. It means when we slip off for twenty minutes after the ceremony you are not standing on a lawn in full view of a hundred guests, so what I bring back looks like the two of you rather than a photoshoot.
120 for the ceremony, 120 seated, up to 250 in the evening, and 180 rooms on site if your guests are staying over. Exclusive use throughout. It is around forty minutes from me in Grayshott.
With a range of packages available, couples can choose from an array of wedding services, including catering, entertainment, flowers and decorations. Horsley Towers also has dedicated events staff on hand to help create a dream wedding day that reflects your individual style and personality.
A note on timings
The one thing I would plan carefully here is the light in the ballroom. It is at its best through the afternoon. If your ceremony is late in the day, or you are marrying in midwinter, tell me early and I will bring more with me. It changes nothing about your day. It just changes what goes in the van.
How I work on the day
No posing. No forced smiles. No stopping your day so that I can get something. I film what is actually happening and I stay out of the way while I do it. The compliment I get most often afterwards is that nobody noticed I was there.

Filming notes for Horsley Towers
- 120 for the ceremony, 120 seated, up to 250 in the evening.
- 180 rooms on site, so guests can stay and the morning stays in one place.
- The ballroom windows do most of the lighting work on a decent afternoon.
- Eight acres, a terrace and secluded gardens, so the couple portraits happen away from the crowd.
- About forty minutes from me in Grayshott. I shoot wedding photography as well as film, so if you would rather one person covered both, just ask.
Couples stories at Horsley Towers
A moment from a Horsley Towers wedding
The father and daughter dance, filmed in the ballroom. Nobody planned what happens about ten seconds in, which is rather the point of filming a day as it actually happens rather than staging it.
If you are getting married at Horsley Towers and you would like your day filmed this way, get in touch and tell me your date.
