Four Seasons Hotel Hampshire sits at Dogmersfield Park, a restored eighteenth century manor house on a five hundred acre estate between Hook and Fleet. It is the largest single estate I film on in north Hampshire and the scale is the point. Long drives, parkland, water and a house at the end of it, all of which gives a film somewhere to breathe.

The Four Seasons Ballroom is the big room, two hundred seated and two hundred and fifty standing, with its own pre function space alongside. The Mandeville Ballroom does a hundred seated for a smaller day and the Beckington, Shrewsbury and Bathurst rooms take it down further. Five rooms in one building means the day can move without anybody leaving the house.

Outside there is the Walled Garden and the Fox Hollow terrace, both of which work for a ceremony or a reception. The Walled Garden is the one I would ask for. Old brick holds the warmth of the late light and gives me even, flattering illumination without a single piece of equipment being switched on.

Five hundred acres means I will agree the route with you in advance rather than improvise it. Done properly, an estate this size gives you a film with genuine variety in it, parkland one minute and panelled rooms the next. Done badly, it means everybody spends the drinks reception walking. Fifteen minutes in the right place is all I ask for.
