Weddings, elopements and destinations

Hampshire, Surrey and West Sussex

Wedding photography across Hampshire, Surrey and Sussex

A relaxed, documentary approach. I photograph the day as it happens rather than staging it, which means the pictures end up looking like your wedding instead of a catalogue.

Hello, I’m Paul

I photograph weddings across Hampshire, Surrey and West Sussex. I have been doing it long enough to know that the best pictures happen when nobody is being told what to do.

So I keep out of the way. No long lists of posed groups, no standing about in a field while the drinks go warm. Just the day, photographed as it happens.

Weeks later, when the flowers have gone over and the cake is in the freezer, the photographs are what is left. They should look like the day you actually had.

Stunning portraits

Photographs that look like your day, not somebody else’s

Twenty four years in the fire service before this taught me to stay calm when things change. Weddings change constantly. I work quietly, I help where I can and I am reliably told I am good company, which matters when someone is with you from breakfast until the first dance.

Every moment of your day, captured

Recent weddings

Five recent weddings, deliberately different from one another. A winter barn, a summer marquee in Surrey, a modern venue in Hampshire, a relaxed garden celebration, and a late summer day full of natural light.

Creative Portraits

Beautiful, natural wedding photos

Portrait sessions do not need to be more than ten or fifteen minutes. You go for a walk together, I work around you and nobody has to hold an awkward pose or produce a forced smile.

Thinking about film as well?

Most couples who book both tell me the film is the part that surprised them.

Photographs hold a moment still. A film gives you the sound of it: the vows, the laugh in the middle of the speech, the noise the room made when you walked in.

I have been filming weddings for eleven years and I can cover both, or work alongside your photographer if you have already booked one.

You will hear things you missed on the day, because you were busy living it.

And the people who could not be there get to see it properly, rather than through somebody’s shaky phone footage.

If you would like both, there is a combined photo and film package with Alex.
