Filming at Northbrook Park
Northbrook Park is a Grade II listed eighteenth century manor house sitting in a hundred and twenty acres between Farnham and Bentley, with walled gardens, lakes and water features spread through the estate. It is one of the few venues near me where you could film for a full day and still not have used every background it owns.
Numbers go to two hundred and fifty, which puts it at the top end of what I film in Surrey. A guest list that size needs planning rather than luck. I will walk the route from the ceremony to the reception with you beforehand so that the film follows the day instead of chasing it through a crowd.
The walled gardens are the part I would build the timeline around. Old brick holds warmth in the late light and gives me a background that is intimate even when there are two hundred and fifty people fifty yards away. The lakes do the same job later in the evening, throwing light back up at faces.
Ten mews houses sleep up to eighty, which changes the shape of the morning completely. Instead of the wedding party arriving from four different directions, everybody is already on the estate. It also means the day can carry on properly after the last dance, which is often where the loosest and best footage comes from.

Emma and Tom at Northbrook Park
Emma and Tom got married at Northbrook Park and I filmed the whole day. If you would rather see what a wedding here actually looks like than read about it, their cinematic short is below.
How I work on the day
No posing, no forced smiles, no interruptions. I film what happens and I keep out of the way while I do it. If your photographer sets something up I will use it, but I am not going to stop your day for the sake of a shot.
Filming notes for Northbrook Park
- A hundred and twenty acres, so the film never has to use the same background twice.
- Up to two hundred and fifty guests, which is the largest venue I film in the area.
- The walled gardens hold the late light and are the best ten minutes of the day.
- Ten mews houses sleeping eighty, so most of the party is on the estate overnight.
- Dry hire, so the timeline is yours to set rather than the venue’s.
